week2;3
I am taking global issues this term and I found that I actually did not know many of the things that are happening to the earth so I decided to share some of the things i read from the book called “the future of the earth”. It said that from the 1980s to the 1990s, the number of people in the world who affected by natural disasters increased 50%. For example, almost 318,000 people died and more than 81 million people lost their house by catastrophic floods which has dramatically increased. I hear a lot about natural disasters these days on the news but I was surprised that I actually do not know a lot about this and it made me sad.

Thanks for sharing. The book sounds very interesting, and I think I will actually ask the teacher about borrowing the book. :)
ReplyDeleteIf you are interested in watching movies, maybe the you will want to watch "An inconvenient truth" (2006) about global warming. See the review on http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0497116/
I personally like the movie and it made me think a lot. Also, there are a lot of articles about natural disasters on National Geographic's website at http://environment.nationalgeographic.com/environment/natural-disasters/?source=NavEnvND
Take a look!
